Tree Removals

We began the approved tree removals on the North Course this week. Four Cottonwoods adjacent to number six green were felled yesterday. They were removed for the following reasons:

1. root and shade encroachment on six green

2. interference with the new back tee on number seven

3. interference with the pond enlargement
4. aesthetic and playability issues

The architect, Green Committee, Board and me all agreed that the these four trees should come down. We'll have healthier turf and a more playable hole when we're finished.  There are no plans to replace them.
