As a former host Superintendent for the Ryder Cup (2004), I can attest to the planning and organization that is required for the biggest event in golf. Tomorrow, I leave for Medinah CC - where I got my feet wet in this profession in 1986 - to help on the grounds staff and see first hand how another site prepares for the Ryder Cup.
Medinah Superintendent Curtis Tyrell, CGCS, MG has been kind enough to hold open a volunteer spot for me. I'll be tweeting daily updates about course maintenance from the perspective of the grounds crew.
So cool, Steve! We'll be watching for you. :D
ReplyDeleteMedinah looks fantastic! Great job by Curtis Tyrell and staff.
