Piper

The club's annual invitational event gives us the opportunity to showcase what we do. It's fun getting the courses in tournament condition even through the weather challenges this week.

The heat is harder on the staff than it is on the turf. It is simply too hot and too dangerous to ask the staff to work the 15 hour day we would normally experience during Piper preparations. There are some things "outside the ropes" we won't attend to, but the product we provide is still tournament worthy.

Greens speeds may be a bit slower too. Our objective until the heat breaks is firm and fast conditioning ...  on a living playing surface.
