Annual Bluegrass Control

We are applying a newer product for annual bluegrass control. Annual bluegrass is commonly referred to as "poa". It is a very invasive weed that is aggressively encroaching into the South putting green (PG) and the new Short Game (SG) greens.

As you may recall, the PG was regrassed before the Ryder Cup to newer - and better - types of bentgrass and the SG was built just after the Ryder Cup. Poa is now starting to multiply in these surfaces and it is time to get it under control.

The new product we are using will turn the turf yellow for a couple of days. This is normal. A total of 6 treatments will be made between now and September.
