We start fairway aerification next week. The North fairways will be core aerified and the South will get 'deep tined', shown in the photo here.
A deep tine aerification simply makes a deep hole without ejecting a core. It's effect is to 'shatter' the soil at a deeper depth. It does not replace core aeration but supplements it.
